The history of St Mary's
The building housing St Mary's was completed in 1899 on a site donated by Lord Cowper, at a cost of £2,000. The money was raised by the local community with donations from businesses in the area.
In 1992, we completed the addition of a toilet block, kitchen facilities and disabled access.
During 1999, the pews were removed, the church was redecorated and comfortable chairs were added so that St. Mary's could be more multi-functional and welcoming.
